Bryan Crow is a mixed media artist who works in diverse media, including painting, sculpture, and installations. His work is often created from found objects, steel, wire, and his 2-dimensional practice often incorporates recycled imagery. By utilizing varied approaches, he creates artwork that addresses urban contemporary issues. His approach is intimately philosophical, yet playful – exemplified by production that ranges from massive sculptures and paintings to post-it note sized illustrations.
Crow has taught drawing, painting, and sculpture courses at a range of institutions and centers in Tucson, including the Drawing Studio. He has worked in Residential Treatment as an art group facilitator and developed an art meditation group while working in a group home for adolescent males.
His artwork has been shown in galleries throughout the United States, and at the MOCA Tucson and the Tucson Museum of Art. He has illustrated covers for the Tucson Weekly Magazine and has been featured on the PBS cultural program, Arizona Illustrated. Crow has received several prestigious grants and scholarships, and participated in artist in residency programs around the United States.
